It was a warm, sunny day in October. She was relaxing out on the veranda, just peacefully reading a book. She noticed people around her were putting things into their mouths and this made her curious. She also observed that nothing was coming out of their mouths. This was obviously a one way ticket. In the distance she noticed a stand where people had lined up and were giving money to someone who was giving them the very things they were putting in their mouths. She saw the line getting bigger, which on her planet means that whatever it is, people like it. Enough to form lines and offer currency. The lines continued growing as well as the amount of currency. She couldn't stand it any more. She wanted one too. She finally got to the front of the line and asked the person behind the stand what is the craze about. The "behind the stand person" responded by saying "People are enjoying veggie burgers." She stood completely stunned at what she heard. Unable to believe it, she asked, "Veggie did you say?". On her planet veggies were regarded as the most intelligent beings. She was stricken with grief when she heard that he was offering veggie burgers in exchange for money so that everyone could put the burgers in their mouth. She reported this information back to her command crew. Needless to say they were just as surprised and decided to have an impromptu funeral for all the veggies. As she was unable to attend, she took a seat back where she was and continued to observe the horror. A little munchkin with a veggie burger approached her and asked if she would like half of his. He saw her hesitation and told her that if she closes her eyes, it will taste like beef. Unwilling to compromise her identity as "someone from somewhere else", she closed her eyes and put the burger of vegetables into her mouth. Immediately, a metamorphosis started to occur. She continued putting more burger into her mouth and once there was no more burger left, she became human.
